A beautiful Ethiopian Orthodox devotional triptych icon — Saint George slaying the dragon on his white horse at center, flanking panels with soldier-guards and attendant figures in vivid flat color. The carved wooden frame features three Ge'ez cross finials at the crown and geometric lattice carving on the closing doors, in the tradition of Ethiopian icon cases. Cord hinges through drilled holes are period-correct construction. Early 20th century. A genuinely significant devotional object.
