A stunning antique display piece: a shallow polished alabaster dish in warm coral, peach, and dove grey — the stone's natural veining giving it the quality of a painting — elevated on four cast bronze figural legs with a small star-form bronze finial at center. Almost certainly Italian in origin, late 19th or early 20th century, when this combination of carved stone and decorative metalwork was a hallmark of fine decorative objects.
